Plot summary
Bea is thirteen, and her mother moves the two of them to northern Ontario for a summer. What Bea wants more than anything else is a best friend. In that town she meets Kate, a boisterous girl. The two of them are pre-teen girls, and the summertime is hot and hazy. A close friendship forms between the two girls and gradually grows across that summer.
