Plot summary
Arul Selvakumar runs the textile business his mother Bhuvaneshwari built in Palladam after her husband's early death. Her brother-in-law Avinashi is money-minded and has plans to take Arul's properties. Arul returns from studies abroad and takes charge of the businesses. When Bhuvaneshwari is hurt in an accident at the factory and falls into a coma, his efforts to treat her come to nothing. A sage he meets at the hospital offers a way: Arul must live as a beggar for 48 days, never revealing his identity and telling no one, and his mother will have a chance. He leaves the business with his friend Rajesh and begs at a temple in Chennai, where he meets the charitable Magizhini.
