Plot summary
In Kerala, Francis Kunjappan, a public works minister, wants a rival out of the way. He hands Jagannathan, a politician known for solving problems by unorthodox means, a job in the United States that pays enough for the sports academy Jagannathan wants to build. Jagannathan, who speaks no English, flies to California with his assistants Pottakuzhi Jabbar and Vayalar Varkey. There Sunny Kurishingal, the chief adviser to John Kory, a Republican running for governor of California, lays out the two-party system and the problem: the Democrat George Hope is far ahead. Jagannathan takes over the campaign and begins applying the tactics of Indian politics, among them recruiting screenwriters to write speeches, while also looking for a bride and meeting Jessy.
