Plot summary
Neil Morris is a state park ranger, and he and his wife Abby have been looking for their teenage son Ben since the boy disappeared two months ago, a search that has left them in despair. A 911 call brings Neil and fellow rangers John Gibson and Chief Mike Cortez to a construction site where a dog has attacked. The animal turns aggressive, and Neil cannot bring himself to shoot it. Odd events follow, and Neil notices townspeople behaving strangely. Word of violent attacks and erratic conduct points to a virus no one can identify, and those it infects grow distorted and aggressive.
