Plot summary
Adem leads a band of six through Upper Paleolithic Europe forty-five thousand years ago, looking for a better life. With him are his pregnant mate Avé, his younger brother Geirr, his eleven-year-old son Heron, the young woman Beyah and an older man, Odal. They travel toward the mountains hoping to find a cave where they can settle. A mysterious creature appears in the wild, and Heron is taken in the night. Adem will not leave the boy, and the band pushes deeper into the woods, where the way back is soon lost to them. As darkness falls, Adem goes out alone to track the creature.

- The film's dialogue is entirely in Tola, an artificial language invented by Daniel Andersson and based on Arabic and Basque.
- The film was shot during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in November 2020 around Gairloch in Scotland; the production hired out the Gairloch Hotel, and all filming took place within a mile of it.
