Plot summary
Eric Liddell was born in China and spent more than half his life there, though he ran for the United Kingdom and ranks among Scotland's greatest athletes. He took gold at the 1924 Olympic Games. He would not run a race on a Sunday, a day he kept for God. China counts him as its first gold medalist. After those Games he went back to the country of his birth, where he taught and evangelized. Imperial Japan is pressing toward that country.
