Plot summary
Savitri, known to everyone as Baby, has spent years running a canteen at a college her childhood friend Chanti co-owns. She once hoped to be a singer; the chance passed her by, and she now pins that hope on her grandson Ramakrishna, called Rocky, who is starting out in a band. At home, her daughter-in-law Madhavi, recently ill, refuses to keep living with her, and Baby leaves the house. On the way to Rocky's first performance she enters a photo studio, where the photographer promises to restore her beauty. The picture does what he says: Baby wakes as her own 24-year-old self. Taking the name Swathi, she settles into Chanti's house and joins Rocky's band.
