Bedurulanka 2012 (2023) on Netflix

Plot summary

In the village of Bedurulanka, television bulletins about the world ending in 2012 have the residents frightened. Bhushanam, Brahmam and Daniel work a religious scheme on them: Brahmam, an astrologer, and Daniel, the church father's son, announce that they have been blessed with a way to survive the doomsday, and the villagers follow whichever of the two matches their faith. Shiva, who has left his job in Hyderabad and come home, dismisses the whole business and will not follow either man, angering Bhushanam and the village president. Chitra, the president's daughter, and Shiva take up their old relationship again and hope to marry. Bhushanam, whose money is running out, wants his son Kasiraju to marry Chitra, though Kasiraju is already seeing her friend Padma and only agrees to spite Shiva.
