Plot summary
In 1968, Sergeant First Class Buck McGriff and Sergeant First Class Albaby Perkins are Criminal Investigation Division agents who work in plainclothes in wartime Saigon. After a prostitute is found murdered, the two look into the killing and learn that at least six similar murders have gone unsolved over the past year. Suspicion falls on senior U.S. Army officers, and an earlier inquiry was halted by someone higher in the chain of command. Master Sergeant Dix, the agents' non-commissioned officer in charge, and a French nun, Sister Nicole, assist as the case widens. The work puts their lives in danger.
