Trailer

Plot summary

The Cuban missile crisis sends a Soviet submarine into waters off Cuba carrying nuclear material for Cuba, and it goes down with its cargo. The radiation changes an octopus in those waters, and the creature grows to enormous size, attacking submarines and naval craft along the coast. In 2000, two CIA officers, Roy Turner and Henry Campbell, are working in Sofia, Bulgaria. A bomber disguised as an old woman leaves a bag that explodes at the American embassy, and when the two men chase her, her accomplices drive a car at Henry. Roy pursues her. The American submarine Roosevelt is operating in the same waters, and an unknown object strikes it with enough force to cripple it and drag it to the ocean floor.
