Plot summary
For thirty-five years Max, Paul and Simon have been close. Each has a successful career, and the three set aside one holiday a year to travel together without their partners, meeting in between for cards and drinks. On one of their evenings Simon announces that he has strangled Estelle, his wife, in the course of a furious argument. Max and Paul are appalled by the confession. Then Simon asks them to lie and give him an alibi for the time of Estelle's death. The two are torn between covering for their friend and telling the police what they have heard.
