Plot summary
Xavier Carr is a Black LAPD officer who once ran with the Crips. His patrol takes him through Colonial Courts, the Los Angeles housing project where he grew up. His partner is Ethan Hawkins, the son of a legendary sergeant who has died. Ethan wants a place on the Night Patrol, an elite and secretive task force that operates only after dark. Xavier's brother is Wazi. The unit's work puts the residents of the projects in danger, and Xavier finds that the force is hiding something from the neighborhood.
