Plot summary
Craig Jones learns that Debo has escaped from prison with his brother Tyrone and wants revenge on him, so Craig's father Willie sends him to Rancho Cucamonga, where his uncle Elroy and his cousin Day-Day settled after a lottery win. Day-Day tells him that taxes and fees ate most of the winnings, leaving the house and Day-Day's car, and a mailman brings a notice that the house could be repossessed. Day-Day works at a record shop with Roach, a skateboarding friend; when their boss Pinky finds the shop locked and scuffles with Craig, he fires them both. Craig recalls the Joker brothers, three gang members who share a house with their sister Karla, and a hydraulic pump they hauled that he suspects holds cash.
