Plot summary
Jesse is seventeen, and his older brother Victor once tried to become a champion surfer and did not make it. Jesse has the natural skill to surf onto the international circuit, but also a talent for getting in his own way. Coal barges cross the water near his home, and a blue-collar future is what waits for him. He heads to a remote beach for a weekend of camping and surfing with his friends Nathan, Andy and Scotty, his brother Fergus, Deb and Leah. Fergus has a crush on Andy, and Andy feels the same. Victor arrives, and things get competitive.
