Plot summary
Ben Rutherford is an archaeology student whose father has died and left him an 18th century mechanical box known as Le Vaudou Mort. Ben takes the box to a college party and shows it to his friends. The next morning he finds it has been taken from his dorm room. A shadowy figure then uses the contraption on the friends who saw it, and they begin to die. Ben seeks out Marcus, the half-brother he is estranged from, a forensic photographer, to work out what the box is and who is using it.
