Plot summary
Hunter Biden is the son of Joe Biden, the president of the United States, and his life runs on parties, drugs and business dealings with wealthy foreign oligarchs in Ukraine and China. The dealings are described as alleged, and he is shown in exaggerated form as deeply flawed and intoxicated, overwhelmed by his reputation as a screw-up, and he struggles with addiction under the immense pressures of his life. He is also shown with sympathy. Grace Anderson works as a stripper and meets him, and the closer she gets to the president's son, the more she learns about American politics.

- During filming, actor John James, who plays Joe Biden, suffered an off-set injury and had to be rushed to the hospital, but he returned to the set and kept filming afterward, saying "the show must go on".
- Gina Carano, who plays a world-weary secret service agent, says she took the part partly out of loyalty: Robert Davi reached out to her as soon as she was "canceled" in February 2021, and she signed on in support of him and of Laurence Fox, one of her favorite humans.
