Plot summary
Chloe Grange, general manager of an upscale restaurant in Portland, Oregon, returns to Grange Family Wineries in Oregon wine country at her father Truman's request. He has decided to retire after the death of his wife, and with Chloe pursuing her own career he intends to sell the winery, most likely to Stratosphere, a mass producing manufacturer based in New York City. Seth Anderson, a city man who knows business but nothing about wine, leads the negotiations, and a deal is a prerequisite for his promotion. Chloe will not trust anyone whose interest is only business. During the Valentine's Day Wine Festival she also begins exchanging notes on the cottage kitchen blackboard with the tenant there, who signs himself handyman while she signs herself in need of repair.
