Plot summary
Antonio, an actor living in Berlin, proposes to his boyfriend Paolo, who accepts. Paolo suggests they spend Easter in Civita di Bagnoregio, Antonio's village, so Antonio can come out to his parents. They arrive with their flatmates Benedetta and Donato, and Antonio makes his announcement at dinner. His father Roberto, the mayor, is shocked. His mother Anna is thrilled and sets conditions: the wedding must be in Civita, Roberto must officiate, and Paolo's mother must attend. Paolo has not spoken to his mother in three years.
