Plot summary
Mao Ming is a wandering exorcist, and two ghosts, Ta Pao and Xiao Bao, serve as his spirit companions. He tries and fails to drive angry spirits from a haunted house, and narrowly escapes with the pair to a town nearby, where bandits who have supernatural powers are raiding. Those bandits answer to Devil Lady, a witch doctor. Captain Chiang interrupts a meal Ming and the ghosts are having in a restaurant to harass them, and the ghosts trick him in return. Chiang's master then appears, overpowers Ta Pao and Xiao Bao and shuts them inside a wine jar. Ming cannot match the priest's magic, so he begs for their release. The priest agrees, on the condition that Ming part ways with the two ghosts.
