Plot summary

Adrian Monk's compulsive habits, quiet since he solved the murder of his wife Trudy, return during the pandemic. A book deal about his years as a private detective falls through; the money was meant for the wedding of his stepdaughter Molly Evans, and Monk begins to think about ending his own life. For that wedding he sees Natalie Teeger, his former assistant, who has remarried and lives in Atlanta, and Randy Disher, who now leads the police in Summit, New Jersey. Molly is marrying the journalist Griffin Briggs. After Briggs accuses the billionaire Rick Eden of killing his partner, Briggs dies in what looks like a bungee jumping accident, and Molly comes to Monk for help.
