Plot summary
Cliff Burton spent three and a half years playing bass in Metallica, and after he died in a 1986 tour bus accident in Sweden, the band assembled this collection in his memory. It draws on bootleg tapes made by fans, television recordings that were never aired, professionally filmed festival appearances and private photographs. Sets from Detroit, Long Island, San Francisco, Germany, Denmark, Oakland and Chicago appear, several of them built around Burton's bass solos. Between the songs, members of the band drink beer and talk about him. The title comes from Metallica's debut album, and the release was meant to capture the personality and style he brought to the group.
