Plot summary
Two gunmen lose a duel in a town on the American border, and the man who beats them, Dave Robles, who came from Mexico, is hired as the town's sheriff. The star brings him no respect: the town's leading citizens shun him, and his standing with the less savory element fades as he takes the job seriously. He clashes with Ed Bannister, a wealthy businessman who runs a saloon. Estella, the woman Dave loves, is decent and caring, and she is the reason he stays in town; she wants him to lay down his gun and begin a new life.
