Plot summary
Antonio is fifteen and from the Canary Islands, and he lives with cancer while greeting each day with energy. He meets Manolo, a man in crisis: his marriage to Beatriz is falling apart, his two children have drifted away from him, and his monotonous job is something he hates. The title word names the coincidences that look inevitable, as though destiny arranged them. The story is shaped as a Christmas tale and grew out of the experience of a Canarian child who was a victim of cancer.
