Plot summary
Rishi Kumar becomes chief executive of Origin, a company in the United States, and brings his mother over from India. His colleague Nidhi holds a party where his childhood friend Kanna and his professor Chandrashekar gather with old college friends. Seven years earlier, Rishi lives with his middle-class family in Hyderabad; his father Satyanarayana works as a clerk and is in debt, and Rishi has become distant from him. He wins a place for postgraduate study at IIET in Vizag, where he grows close to his roommate Ravi Shankar, a farmer's son under pressure to land a well-paid job in America, and to their classmate Pooja. Pooja brings him into her large joint family and tells him she loves him. Rishi comes first in his first-semester exams and urges Ravi, who has failed, not to give up.
