Plot summary
François, thirty, has stayed away from his family for a decade, ever since a violent dispute with his father Meng. That quarrel ended his visits, and in the years since he has dodged questions about his origins, even letting people believe that he was adopted. Then he finds out that he is about to become a father. His companion Sophie pushes him to reconnect with his past, and he travels to the XIIIth district where he grew up, with his best friend Bruno, to announce the news. Most of the family greets him warmly. His father Meng and his younger brother do not.
