Plot summary
R. D. Laing is a Scottish psychiatrist who works in East London at Kingsley Hall through the 1960s and 1970s. The hall is the base for his community, and he carries out experiments there on people diagnosed as mentally disturbed. His methods are unconventional, among them metanoia, a form of self-healing. The work causes controversy in the medical profession, and it later changes perceptions of mental health around the world.
