Plot summary
The old witch Surulunda needs a successor, so she orders Hector, a clumsy little dragon, to find one. Hector carries a magical book into the room of a young girl named Lilly, and Lilly agrees to become the new witch. Lilly has 99 hours to show she is fit for the job. The warlock Jerome wants the book so he can take over the world, with his pug helper at his side. Jerome draws people into his gaze and hypnotizes them; his victims, Lilly's mother among them, behave strangely and wear gray. Lilly often argues with her young brother Leon.
