Plot summary
The 1980 film Flash Gordon is the starting point for this documentary, which looks at the following that grew around it in the decades after its release. The focus is the man who took the lead role, Sam J. Jones, and what followed for him after a falling-out with Dino De Laurentiis, the producer of the 1980 film and a major figure in Hollywood. Cast members from the film, the composers of its score, comic book creators and the producer's widow Martha give interviews that build the account of how it came together and of the years that followed for its lead.
