Plot summary
Lauren lives in Jersey City and goes back to Ramsey, New Jersey, where her parents live, for the Thanksgiving holiday. She is a lesbian and has kept that from her conservative, dysfunctional family. This year she plans to come out and asks Hailey, her girlfriend, to join her at the house. Austin, the man who shares her apartment, arrives without warning, and Lauren's parents believe he is the boyfriend she has brought home. Lauren asks Austin to keep up the mistake while she gathers the nerve to speak.
