Plot summary
Saira is the princess of Clitopolis, an anxious young woman who lives a sheltered life with two neglectful queens for mothers. Unlike the other royal lesbians of her planet, she has never managed to summon her labrys, the marker of lesbian power. The bounty hunter Kiki, her girlfriend of two weeks, breaks up with her, and then the Straight White Maliens seize Kiki and demand the labrys as ransom, threatening to drop her into acidic homebrew within a day. The Maliens want the weapon to power a chick magnet. Saira steals a ship and leaves home to rescue Kiki herself.

- Co-directors Leela Varghese and Emma Hough Hobbs debated whether to include the labrys in Lesbian Space Princess because it "used to be a TERF symbol", but added it so it would belong to all lesbians, including trans lesbians; the character Queen Leanne, a trans woman, summons it in trans colors.
- In late August 2026 Lesbian Space Princess drew a social-media backlash from online fandoms. Cartoon Brew editor-in-chief Jaime Lang said the response, out-of-context clips, memes and "toxic and abusive" accusations against the film's creators, looked "coordinated and inorganic-looking", with users engaging in hate speech and review bombing the film.
