Plot summary
Ray and his brother Junior run a hardware store in a small Texas town. Private detective Skip gives Ray photographs from a motel stake-out, and they suggest his wife Stacy-Lynn has been unfaithful. Ray buys a revolver, then drives to the motel and waits in his car with it. A stranger gets in beside him, mistakes Ray for a contract killer named Harry, and pays him several thousand dollars for a killing to be done the next day. Tucked among the bills is a scrap of paper with a street address, the only clue to the target. The stranger steps out, and Harry pulls up as Ray drives away.
