Plot summary
Lando Cecchini lives a placid life as a peasant in Tuscany. An aunt of his left for America thirty years earlier, and her sudden return unsettles the household. She brings her husband, an ex-marine and Vietnam veteran who recites Apocalypse Now from memory and rises at five each morning, a grandson absorbed by video games, and Wendy, the daughter, who intrigues Lando. The visitors keep their own habits: jogging, a Halloween party, a morning military march, and roast turkey for Thanksgiving.
