Kooman (2022) on Netflix

Plot summary

Giri Shankar works as a civil police officer at the police station of his village on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, a hill settlement where people from both states live. He notices details others miss and has a talent for finding clues, so his senior officers, CI Pillai and SI Sukumaran Nair, encourage him, while some of his fellow constables envy him. Villagers who treat him with contempt irritate him. When he tries to file a drug smuggling case against a young man who told him to remember his place, Pillai scolds him. Pillai then retires, and Harilal arrives as the new CI, an arrogant man who insults Giri without reason. After Harilal humiliates him at a kabaddi match, Giri decides to take revenge and asks Maniyan, an old thief, to teach him how to rob homes.
