Karen Webber, an artist, takes the children to the beach for Father's Day weekend while her husband Evan, an architect, stays behind with a project to finish and a shoulder injury that needs treatment. She leaves her assistant Louis to move a sculpture to her gallery show. Two young women, Genesis and Bel, arrive at the door in a rainstorm, saying their phones have stopped working and that they need the address of a party. Evan brings them inside to get dry, and while they wait for a car he plays records from his years as a disc jockey.
