Plot summary
A blood pact brings the demon clown Killjoy back, and the blood his summoner spills becomes three new clowns: Punchy, Freakshow and Batty Boop. The man names no victim, so Killjoy and his underlings vanish back into their own world. In the meantime, Sandie looks after her professor's house while he is out of town, joined by her friends Rojer, Erica and Zilla. A sack left on the doorstep turns out to hold a mirror, and after some hesitation the group hangs it on the wall. Killjoy reaches out through the glass and draws the students toward his realm, and a barrier settles over the house so that nobody can leave.

- Trent Haaga was reluctant to return as the demonic clown Killjoy: he was embarrassed by his role in Killjoy 2 and disliked the makeup process, and only agreed after learning the film would be shot in China, a country he had never visited.
- Director John Lechago deliberately dropped the urban style of the first two Killjoy films, saying he felt it was out of date and was taking advantage of a culture and making a mockery of it.
- Full Moon had lost contact with Trent Haaga in the eight years after Killjoy 2: Deliverance from Evil, and director John Lechago used his friendship with Haaga as leverage to get special effects artist Tom Devlin hired after the company declined and planned to rely solely on its Chinese crew.
- Three deleted scenes from the film were reused in a quick recap montage in the sequel Killjoy Goes to Hell, where the only way to see them is to play the footage in slow motion.
