Plot summary
Nic Gordon and four other minor offenders, Ray-Ray Martin, Eddie Jasper, Ce-Ce Washington and Charlotte Davis, are driven to Loxahatchee Canyon by detention officers Denise Martinez and Lieutenant Harris Redding to spend ninety days renovating a group home for delinquents. Their bus engine fails at night, and with no cellphone reception, Redding takes the men to search for a signal. The group finds shelter with Kadja Boszo, a voodoo priestess who tries to help the wounded Ray-Ray. Ce-Ce tells the others about Killjoy, a revenge demon summoned through black magic, and Nic offers her cocaine if she can raise the demon. The ritual appears to fail.
