Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Kennedy (2023)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Anurag Kashyap first wanted Vikram for the title role of Kennedy; Vikram's real name is Kennedy John Victor, which inspired the film's title. Kashyap reached him only after Sobhita Dhulipala, then shooting Ponniyin Selvan, passed on a message he had sent to a wrong number, but Vikram's scheduling conflicts kept him out.
- The film's protagonist is based on a real-life police officer named Uday Shetty, and the plot is inspired by the 2021 Antilia bomb scare incident, with the character an undercover police officer-turned-hitman operating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Kashyap said Rahul Bhat had to peel 700 apples for a scene in which he peels an apple with a gun in his hand, and slept with a pistol to stay in character, skipping sleep before night shoots to get the weary, bloodshot look.
- Kennedy was the only Indian film chosen for the launch lineup of Letterboxd Video Store, which gave it its first wide availability to general audiences in more than 20 countries outside India.
- The final scene was shot in Colaba, where the team could not use real guns, so Rahul Bhat mimicked the gunfire sounds himself, and Kashyap held his hand as he broke down during the close-ups.
- Kashyap's idea for casting Sunny Leone came after watching her infamous, much-publicised television interview, where she answered judgemental and probing questions with grace and dignity; he wondered if she would audition, and she accepted his offer.
