Plot summary
Liz and Malcolm head to a secluded cabin in the countryside for a weekend marking their first anniversary. Inside, Liz finds a boxed cake that Malcolm attributes to the caretaker. The meal is interrupted when Malcolm's cousin Darren arrives with his girlfriend Minka. At Malcolm's urging Liz tastes the cake, though Minka warns her it tastes terrible. Visions trouble Liz: screaming, bloodied women and a pregnant woman who resembles her. Minka is set upon by something unseen in the woods, and Malcolm leaves to attend to a patient, promising to return that evening, so Liz waits alone in the cabin.
