Plot summary
Avinash Rajpurohit holds an IT job in Bengaluru that his father Prakash pushed him into, and he dislikes it; Prakash never supported his passion for photography. A travel agency telephones to say that Prakash died in a bus accident on a trip to Gangotri, and that the body will be sent to him. Avinash takes delivery of the corpse and hands it to his van driver friend Shaukat, but when they are about to cremate it they find the body is that of an old woman. He learns it belongs to the mother of Tahira, a widow in Kochi, and that Prakash's body and belongings are with her. Avinash and Shaukat set out for Kochi to exchange the two.

- Arvind Swamy and Nawazuddin Siddiqui were originally cast as two of the three leads, but after script changes in May 2014, Rajkummar Rao was signed to replace Arvind Swamy.
- Director Akarsh Khurana walked off the project in June 2014 because of creative differences with writer Bejoy Nambiar, who then signed Heeraz Marfatia, though filming never started.
- Abhishek Bachchan was cast as one of the leads in April 2017 but pulled out two months later over scheduling conflicts with J. P. Dutta's Paltan, a project he himself later left.
