Plot summary
Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash and Martian Manhunter form the Justice League, and Batman has quietly drawn up confidential files on how each of his teammates could be stopped. Vandal Savage, an immortal tyrant, means to wipe out two thirds of humanity and build a new civilization in its place. He pays Mirror Master to break into the Batcomputer and take those files, then rewrites them so that the methods meant to subdue a teammate would kill instead. Cheetah, Star Sapphire, Metallo, Bane, Mirror Master and Ma'alefa'ak are offered money to strike at the League members one by one, and the group calls itself the Legion of Doom.

- Justice League: Doom was written by Dwayne McDuffie right before his death, adapting the JLA: Tower of Babel storyline.
- Justice League vs. the Fatal Five was first planned as a stand-alone sequel to Justice League: Doom, reusing that film's voice cast and Phil Bourassa's art style and models. James Tucker worried audiences would confuse it with the New 52-based DCAMU, so Bruce Timm used Justice League and Justice League Unlimited animation models, placing it ambiguously in the DCAU.
