Plot summary

Dr. Stephen Strange is among the most gifted surgeons in medicine, until a car crash leaves his hands shattered and useless. He spends his fortune chasing a way to repair his broken body. The embittered doctor comes to believe that all is lost, until the mysterious Ancient One offers him hope and healing in Tibet. Strange travels to a hidden community on a Tibetan mountain, and there, before his wounds can mend, he has to let go of a painful past. He must also awaken a gift that only a few are given, and learn to accept what he once called unacceptable. That gift is magic.
