Plot summary
Jackie and Lucy are best friends in their mid twenties who share the nickname Jucy. Jackie's social anxiety remains unchecked and she cannot hold a mature relationship with a man, while Lucy has finished neither of the university degrees she began and still lives with her mother. Friends and family badger the pair about their codependent womance, so they agree on a pact to seem ordinary: Jackie will get a boyfriend and Lucy will make a career move. Parts in a stage version of Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre give them their opening. Jackie likes Alex, the production's star, and Lucy, set on acting professionally, wants her sister Fleur's approval.
