Plot summary
Ron Emmerson, recently divorced, takes his son Tim and his daughter Annie to the farm of his eccentric Aunt Cly in Turkey Hollow for the Thanksgiving holidays. The town has no modern technology, and the two children quickly grow bored without the Internet. They set out to track the Howling Hoodoo, an elusive ten-foot monster that the people of Turkey Hollow have long dismissed as a legend. In the woods they come across Squonk, Zorp, Burble and Thring, creature friends who come to their aid.

- The film began life as "The Musical Monsters of Turkey Hollow", a special Jerry Juhl wrote for Jim Henson that was never made. It got as far as puppet design, some of those puppets were built and survive in the archives, and Lisa and Cheryl Henson were photographed with them in Henson's backyard to test how they looked outdoors.
