Plot summary
Jean Renault is forty and cannot find acting work. He is open to any kind of job, but nothing comes through, and at the unemployment office his counselor has an unusual suggestion: the police need someone to play the dead victim while they rebuild a crime scene. Jean agrees and takes the job. His attention to detail impresses the detectives, and he is handed a leading part in a sensitive investigation. The case unfolds at the Megève ski resort in the low season, after a series of murders. He also sparks with the officer investigating the crime.
