Diane, an English girl visiting her aunt Linda in New York, deals with chronic nosebleeds. Without a phone of her own, she tries to reach her twin sister, Karen, and drifts into a clothing store, where she meets Jack, a girl her age who is immediately drawn to her. Another nosebleed brings Jack to her side; Jack then takes her to a nightclub. Diane feels sick and leaves for a while; when she comes back, the two girls kiss.
