Plot summary

Arvid works as a teller in a bank, and the people he meets harass him while his girlfriend treats him as dull. He helps stop a robbery at the bank. His girlfriend refuses to believe he took part, ends the relationship and takes most of what they owned. Astrid, the would-be robber Franz's wife, finds him and says her husband only wanted the money for the medical treatment that would let them have a child. Feeling guilty, Arvid contacts his brother Harald, whom he has not seen since their father disowned him over his criminal ties.
