Plot summary
Anne Vincent holds modern ideas about love: marriage, she argues, kills love and leads to unhappiness and divorce. Her boyfriend, Dick Ives II, and his father press her to marry, but she insists people should stay individuals rather than grow emotionally dependent on each other. Both have old entanglements in the picture, and Margie True tells Dick she still loves him. Anne and Dick spend late nights and weekends away together without marrying. When word of a weekend away gets out, Dick pushes her to avoid scandal. Her former boyfriend, Price Baines, sends word that he wants to visit; Dick objects, and she receives him anyway. Price says he still loves her and warns that marriage will make her unhappy.
