Plot summary
During the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, Canadian troops in the Arctic come upon a crashed plane and three Soviet soldiers whose abilities are superhuman. Fifty years later, a Canadian military and scientific team digging in the ice recovers the buried men. Dr. Malraux explains that political extremists had the soldiers genetically altered with help from a captured Nazi scientist, and that their mission was a terrorist strike on New York City meant to trigger World War 3. While examining the bodies, the team finds the soldiers are still alive and slowly regenerating. The scientists argue over what to do, and Malraux, fearing what will happen if they wake, tries to cut off their life support.
