Plot summary
Mike McCann, an ice road trucker, carries the ashes of his younger brother Gurty to Nepal to leave them on Mount Everest. In Kodari, Ganesh Rai campaigns against a hydroelectric dam planned by industrialist Rudra Yash. After Ganesh's father is killed in a crash, Ganesh's son Vijay hides him in the Annapurna Highlands. Mike hires Dhani Yangchen, an Everest guide, and they board the Kiwi Express, the bus Spike drives up the Road to the Sky, a narrow pass at high altitude. Professor Evan Myers and his daughter Starr are aboard, and Vijay is on the bus when mercenaries move to seize it.
