Plot summary
Renee Bennett shoots product photos for LeClaire Cosmetics from a basement office in Chinatown, and she longs for a place at the company's downtown headquarters. There, Avery LeClaire oversees a new budget makeup line that is not selling, and her grandmother, the founder, doubts she understands the women it is meant for. After a fountain wish to be beautiful, Renee falls from a stationary bike in an exercise class, wakes up, and believes the wish has come true. She meets Ethan at the dry cleaner and insists they exchange numbers, then applies for the receptionist job at headquarters. Avery hires her, seeing in her the everyday customer the budget line needs.
